CAMP MARGARITAVILLE RV RESORT & LODGE IN PIGEON FORGE, TN (10/2/21-10/8/21)

Updated: Oct 10, 2021

So, I don’t know if the Margaritaville campgrounds is a new concept because this one was brand new and still under construction. This location was amazing and we couldn’t have been in a better location. We were 3-5 miles from everything. We could hear the Dollywood train’s whistle. Their lodge is still under construction but they had a heated pool, water slides and a hot tub which was nice. The laundry room was very nice but they didn’t have a change machine. The site had level concrete slabs, full hookups, fire pit, nice spacious and private sites, WiFi and cable. Thursday-Saturday they have a food truck and live music at the pool also. It rained EVERY SINGLE DAY we were there 😳.

The day we arrived, Saturday, we got everything setup and started a fire and then it started raining and didn’t stop until Monday morning at 8:00am. We woke up and decided to go to Dollywood and I’m glad we did because this was the only day we had that didn’t rain. However, at 5:30pm it started again and rained day and night, off and on for the rest of our trip. We never saw sunshine.

Pigeon Forge is such a cool place. You could go there and stay for like 4-5 weeks and have a ton to do. Definitely will be put on our list of places to go back to. We didn’t make it to the Tennessee Moonshine Factory Tour 🥺… next time!!!!

I have been waiting a long time to go to Dollywood and I have to say I wasn’t too impressed but I can see how I might enjoy it more when I’m a little older. My mom would love this place 😊 Such a cute, ole country place. We got a slice of the 25 pound apple pie and it was HUGE! It feed all 4 of us and some. That is a must if you go. The highlight of the day was Aliyah was finally tall enough to ride the cool roller coasters and she did it 🎉. She was a little nervous but afterwards she enjoyed them.

We chose to see Dixie Stampede which is 1 of the dinner shows out of many offered. It’s a story about the North vs. South. When you walk in it really smelled bad from the animals but you get use to it 🥴. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to stay and had to leave in the middle of the show. I have asthma and am highly allergic to horses and lots of animals. I didn’t really think anything of it because I wasn’t going to touching them. Within only 10 minutes of being in there I could feel it. I felt awful for having to miss it so I tried to stick it out for the family. After 45 minutes I knew I had to go. I told my husband I was going to go outside and for him and the kids to stay but by the time I got outside I knew I was in trouble and sadly had to have them leave the show. Thank goodness our campground was only 3 minutes away and I had my inhalers and breathing treatment machine. I felt so bad for them to miss it but my sweet family was only concerned about me. Because of Covid I am terrified to have to go to the hospital for asthma so I was so relieved that I was able to get myself under control on my own. Asthma attacks are such a scary thing to experience.

The kids had school all day Tuesday-Thursday so we didn’t do much but we enjoyed ourselves. We went to some souvenir shops and the Candy Kitchen and got some very tasty handmade treats 😋

You know how everyone collects something from their trips: shot glasses, T-shirts, stickers, spoons, etc. I have decided to get a sticker from each place and will make something out of it one day. On our last trip I put them on the camper on the slide out but we sold it and now I have nothing to show for that trip. I also have decided to buy a T-shirt from each place we travel to and then I will have them turned into a big quilt (I am sooooo excited about this). Something our family can have forever to remember these days by.

Today is our travel day and we are headed to NY! We couldn’t go to New York City because of their vaccination mandates to get into anywhere and a lot of the other northern campgrounds close this week. We are going to Niagara Falls and should be there on Saturday. We will stop at a hotel for the night for a quick rest and shower then hit the road again Saturday morning.

Thanks for checking in 🤗
