We left Kansas yesterday and headed to Colorado. Guy drove 434 miles from Salina, KS to Denver, CO.
It was such a cool drive and the weather was beautiful. Kansas was a pretty flat drive with pretty green fields and had tons of wind turbines and oil wells along 70 west. Once we hit Colorado the fields turned brown and it was very windy. The drive wasn’t anything exciting but was an easy drive. We decided to stop for the night around 9:00pm and stayed in a hotel in Denver.
Today, we woke up and headed back on the road to Estes Park, CO. We drove through Boulder, CO and it is such a cute little town. It has mountains all around the town and is so pretty.
Once we passed Boulder the views just kept getting cooler and cooler. This place is stunning. I’ve got to say it’s the prettiest place I’ve ever been. The mountains, rocks, streams, etc. are just beautiful. I took so many photos which I will share but honestly my photos don’t capture all the details.
We pulled in and the people at the campground are so friendly. We are staying at Spruce Lake RV Resort. I had a couple other places I wanted to stay but Colorado is apparently almost sold out for the summer and we are lucky we got into this place.
As soon as we pulled in to our site we had a deer friend waiting to greet us. So much wildlife running around us (oh and there’s a bear in the park). I am so excited for Colorado and we have so many exciting adventures to do here.
I just found out today that to go to Rocky Mountain National Park you have to buy tickets to get in and you get a time slot. Today they had a sign that said they were full. Luckily my mom hoped online for me and got us tickets for Sunday. That’s crazy, it’s a National Park (outdoors).
This is Colorado....no more green
Then there were the mountains ⛰
It kept getting prettier and prettier the more we drove.
Our campground warning
“Gerald” our deer friend. The wildlife at our campsite is so cool and peaceful.
