YOGI BEAR JELLYSTONE MAMMOTH CAVE, KY

My check-in experience was not pleasant due to the unfriendly employees. This seems to be the thing these days unfortunately.

I had called the resort earlier in the day and spoke to Bill. I told him we would be arriving late and asked where I could find firewood for the night. He was very kind and offered to deliver bundles of firewood to our site and it would be waiting for us.

Our site was gravel and had full hookups. The sites are long. They had a picnic table and a fire pit. The gravel rocks are pretty sharp and the grass was patchy and coming through the gravel in places. The campground was pretty full since it was July 4th weekend. We lucked out and didn’t have anyone on either side of us (not sure why but I was okay with it) 😂 The pull through sites across from us were concrete slabs and a little nicer. They also had a lot of cute cabins spread out through the campground.

They screwed up my golf cart reservations also. The employee at the golf cart stand was a jerk as well. I contacted Bill (no idea who he is but he helped me so far) and he gave me some long excuse of them switching programs during the time I booked and my reservation was lost somehow during that transition. I told him to just go ahead and cancel it and refund me my money. He agreed and credited me 1 free night also. I was bummed at first but honestly we had a car with us and the golf carts were beat up and struggling.

They had A LOT for the kids to do and for all ages. They had an inflatable obstacle course in their “lake”. It was $8 per hour. On the other side of the “lake” they had lots of other fun things to entertain us that were free to use. They have two nice pools and a really cool water slide. They gave us at checkin a daily activity sheet and had fun things for the kids/family to do every hour from 11am-9pm. The check-in building was very nice, bright and clean. It was connected to their convenience/souvenir store and had a little restaurant there you could order from. Pizza and chicken (their ice cream machine was broken 🥺). Their souvenir shop had really cute Yogi bear merchandise.

The bath houses were normal camping bath houses (not my favorite but they weren’t the worst). The laundry was dated but clean and the machines worked. The layout of the campground was really nice and spread out with activities pretty close together.

This was a great campground for families with younger kids-teenage years. Employees suck but we give the actual campground

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2 (out of 5).

DISCLOSURE: I am not really an outdoorsy person and prefer the newer resort style RV parks with nicer amenities. So, people that enjoy the outdoors and camping you may have a different opinion then me 🥰
